Davison Dental is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Junior League of Flint's 4th Annual Road Rally to be held on May 9, 2010. Proceeds from this year's Road Rally will benefit the deserving YMCA Camp Copneconic Campership Program.
The Road Rally begins at the Flint Farmers market where competitors will find their first clue. From there, teams will scurry throughout Genesee County from stop to stop, eventually concluding at Maxie’s Food and Spirits where all participants will be awarded prizes and enjoy dinner and fun.
The recipient of the proceeds is a deserving one, and longstanding community landmark. Since 1915, YMCA Camp Copneconic, located on Fenton Road in Genesee County, has provided outdoor programs for youth and families. The Camp provides youth and families with an opportunity to spend the summer learning, exploring the outdoors, making friends, and having fun in a safe environment with other youth and with their families.
The Campership Program is designed for those experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford camp fees. The YMCA’s policy is that no child is denied an opportunity to attend camp programs due to an inability to pay. If financial need is clearly demonstrated, full and partial camperships are provided through the program.
The Junior League of Flint, of which Dr. Emily Schwartz is a member, is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
The Junior Leagues reach out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism. The Junior League strives to commit volunteers and resources to positively impact the present and future quality of life in our community.
